Our Story

Overcomers Chapel International Church is a Christ-centered ministry built on faith, love, and restoration. Founded by Pastor Richard Samuel, the ministry was birthed from a divine mandate to reach the broken, uplift the hopeless, and remind the world that with God, no life is too damaged to be restored.

Baltimore, Maryland (Headquarters - USA): Based in the heart of Baltimore, we serve families, prisoners, and individuals walking through emotional, spiritual, and social challenges. Our work focuses heavily on prison ministry, offering hope, counseling, and restoration to those society often forgets.

Nairobi, Kenya (International Branch): Our Nairobi branch partners with prisons and local communities to provide spiritual encouragement, rehabilitation programs, and support to post-incarceration individuals seeking new beginnings.

We currently have 20 active ministry members who have fully dedicated their time to prison evangelism, community outreach, counseling the emotionally wounded, supporting depressed and discouraged individuals, and spreading the Word of God to the needy. These members serve with compassion, humility, and a heart for restoration.

Our Vision

To raise a generation of overcomers who walk in faith, love, and divine purpose - transforming lives, families, and communities through the power of Jesus Christ.

We envision a world where broken hearts are healed, lost souls are restored, and believers stand strong as vessels of hope and truth in every sphere of life.

Our Mission

Our mission is to bring the message of restoration, deliverance, and spiritual empowerment to all people - reminding them that no matter their past, they serve a God of second chances.

We pursue this through preaching the uncompromised Word of God, reaching the hurting and forgotten (including inmates and those bound by life's struggles), equipping believers through prayer and discipleship, and building families of faith rooted in unity, forgiveness, and compassion.

Our Core Values

Faith

Trusting God beyond what we see.

Compassion

Loving others as Christ loves us.

Integrity

Restoration

Our Leadership

Pastor Richard Samuel

Founder & Senior Pastor

Pastor Richard Samuel founded Overcomers Chapel International Church from a divine mandate to reach the broken and remind the world that with God, no life is too damaged to be restored. His testimony of overcoming betrayal and pain inspires believers to rise again in faith.

Founder's Message

"There was a time in my life when everything I had built seemed to crumble before my eyes - when betrayal, envy, and pain tried to silence the very faith I preached. But it was in that breaking point that God reminded me: 'The calling of an overcomer is not proven in comfort, but in the fire.'"

From those ashes, the vision of Overcomers Chapel International Church was born - not from perfection, but from redemption. I learned that the same God who restores broken walls also restores broken people. He turns rejection into direction, and tests into testimonies.

My heart beats for those who have been overlooked, misunderstood, or wounded by life. I have seen the faithfulness of God lift the forgotten, heal the weary, and breathe new life into what seemed lost. At Overcomers Chapel, we don't just preach hope - we live it.

So whether you're walking through fire, or standing on the mountain, know this: you are not alone, and your story is not over. There is still grace, still power, and still purpose waiting for you in Christ.

Welcome home to the place of restoration, love, and victory. Together, we are Overcomers in Christ.

Member Stories (Testimonies)

These stories reflect God's goodness and the dedication of the Overcomers Chapel family.

Sister Mary - "From Pain to Purpose"

After experiencing deep emotional battles and rejection, Mary joined our outreach team. Through prison visits and counseling sessions, she discovered her purpose in serving broken women. Today, she leads our Women of Restoration team and ministers powerfully to inmates struggling with loneliness and abandonment.

Brother Daniel - "Delivered to Deliver Others"

Daniel is a former inmate whose life was transformed after an encounter with God during one of our prison visits. Today, he is one of our strongest volunteers. He shares his testimony boldly, reminding inmates that God truly gives second chances.

Sister Faith - "A Heart for the Depressed"

Having overcome years of depression, Faith now serves as a peer counselor. She walks with individuals battling discouragement and suicidal thoughts. Her story has become a fountain of hope to many — proving that God heals the brokenhearted.

Brother Samuel - "Restored Family, Renewed Ministry"

Samuel once battled addiction and family breakdown. Through mentorship and prayer, he regained stability and now teaches Bible studies in our Nairobi branch. His life is living proof that God rebuilds what was once destroyed.

The Youth Outreach Team - "Lighting Up the Dark Corners"

Our youth volunteers visit prisons monthly, sharing music, Scripture, and encouragement. Their passion has revived many prisoners who felt forgotten by society. Their motto: "We carry light where darkness tries to live."
